The Donald Ross Neighborhood gives you the option to live in a newer home and still be close to the Village of Pinehurst and Old Town. The community is not really defined formally, but in general it is bounded by NC 211, Buelah Hill Rd (Rt 5) and Linden Road. You can walk to the Village, although you have to cross Buelah Hill on the way.
Just in case you don’t recognize the name Donald Ross . . . . . he was the legendary golf course architect of numerous Pinehurst area golf courses, including the famed Pinehurst No. 2, Pine Needles GC, Mid Pines GC and Southern Pines CC. When you move to Pinehurst, you’ll hear his name often . . . . . even if you don’t live in the neighborhood named for him!!!
Homes in Donald Ross are typically a little larger than the average sized Pinehurst home and they’re usually situated on lots that are a bit bigger than average. Houses in the neighborhood are generally less than 30 years old – in other words, it’s not in the old historic part of the Village despite the name. There’s a huge variance from home to home, but they are all nice and average about 3,000 sq. ft.
