Southern Pines

Highland Trail

Highland Trail is a neighborhood on the eastern edge of Southern Pines where home construction began in the early 1970’s. It’s one of the closest So Pines neighborhoods to Ft. Bragg; and it’s very popular with families. We have not done a house-to-house demographic survey, but based on our years of experience and just driving through the neighborhood, we can say that you see a lot of kids on bikes, dogs being walked and minivans parked in driveways!!! Highland Trails is a good value and it’s also very affordable.

What are the homes like?

Home sizes range from about 1,500 sq. ft. up to about 4,000 sq. ft. Most homes sell between about $175k – $300k, although it’s not unusual to see a new home sell in the high $300k’s or even low $400k’s. Typically, the low to mid priced homes in the neighborhood need just a bit of updating. That’s not bad, though, because Highland Trails is place where upgrading can really pay off when you sell.

Why Highland Trail?

Highland Trails is not a planned community with a clubhouse, swimming pool, etc. There is a main entrance and a neighborhood sign on Indiana Ave near the intersection of Indiana and Ft. Bragg Rd. The prime amenities are the location and proximity to Weymouth Woods right . . . . which is just across Ft. Bragg Rd.

Hi Sale:

The location is ideal if you commute to Bragg/Pope or even Camp Mackall. In fact, the neighborhood is about as close to Ft. Bragg as you can get if you want to live in Southern Pines. Highland Trails is just about 5 minutes (from the entrance) to Downtown Southern Pines and about 10 minutes from major shopping areas. Highland Trails is one of the neighborhoods in Southern Pines that is furthest from Pinehurst, the Hospital, etc.
